Back... kinda...

Back... kinda....

So I have been AFK for O, i don't know... months. I promise that tht time has not been spent in vain. I have been in the process of starting my own company. I am now part owner my own pyrotechnics company. The days are long, the nights are longer. I haven't slept in 3 days. It is all worth it though. It is blessing and a curse, being your own boss. You become The Man, and The Minion all in one. I am trying to gather up some of my photos that I have been neglecting and let them see the light of day. Be patient with me, I am trying to make my way back... :-)

As always, my favorites:

Devious Journal Entry

Strange things are afoot... (Alabama+DD!)

I'm in Alabama!?! Who goes to Alabama, and why don't they leave as quickly as they came? I know why I am here. I'm working, and getting paid darn well for it. The rest of these people, I'm not sure why they stick around. Of course I say this, as I prepare to return to Louisiana. I don't have much high ground here...

Anyway, I have been really crazy busy lately, but I managed to log on to DA a day or two ago and much to my suprise

Very, very cool. Since then I have been swamped sending replys and thank you's, but I am done now and I want to get around to thnking the people who keep me coming back to this weird and wonderful place.

It's been a long time...

Sat Jun 23, 2007, 12:03 PM
It's been a long time, long time, I shouldn't have left you, left you, without a dope beat to step to...

Ok, so I've been working like a madman.

Most businesses have slow times during the summer, and so do we. Usually.

Not this summer it appears.

I've been working like crazy, traveling, sweating, and pretty much getting no sleep. Jazzfest just ended, New Orleans was nuts. It feels like I just got back from Memphis and now I'm in Daytona Beach. I was hoping for a work/vacation, but it seems like no such luck. I'll be lucky if I even get to set eyes on the ocean, let alone spend any time on the beach.

I eagerly await the begining of next semester. I have been so busy as of late that there has been little time for DA, or my camera for that matter. I look forward to the time when I have four or five classes where I have nothing to do but keep up with my friends here at DA. I miss that.

Here is my formal apology to all my friends here I have neglected. I guess that is the nice thing about DA: you can go away and then come back and pick up right where you left off. Thanks for not forgetting me. An now for proof I haven't forgotten them:

Headache

Wed Apr 25, 2007, 8:06 AM
So, I was walking home from class yesterday and I saw something kinda strange. I saw a woodpecker perched on top of a aluminum soccer goal. I watched him, wondering what he had in mind, and straight away he went to pecking his brains out on that goal post. If you have never heard the sound a woodpecker makes pecking metal, well, it is something to behold. So, I am standing here watching this oddity of nature, this strange creature, acting naturally against an unnatural object, and I felt this sudden wave of kinship with this little bird. This little creature, doing the only thing he knows, was beating his had against a wall. I could imagine his headache. I could imagine his frustration. I could imagine his bewilderment at the lack of fruit from his labor. As I looked at the woodpecker, this animal in whom I had found a most kindred of spirits, looked at me, turned his head and pondered me, then did something that I have never been able to do. He flew away. He realized that what he was doing was pointless and he might as well move on. How is it that a little bird is smarter than me?

3 Weeks left

Tue Apr 17, 2007, 5:26 AM
Only 3 weeks left of school! Then I can get back to a real life for the summer. 3 weeks, 6 class meetings, then finals. Getting close and feeling good. I hope to be able to get out and enjoy myself, take some pictures this summer. I have some pictures from Florida I need to post. Maybe soon.
